Honey, do you know what box the (insert item name here) is in?

Oh, it's time to own our own home and unpack everything. It's these half-way moved in moves that will drive a person insane. Take, for instance, the cord that would allow me to have audio on my computer. No where to be found. Paul packed that. I was hoping it was in the same box he packed the TV remote control that we couldn't find for several days. TV remotes aren't like they used to be, with an on button and some volume controls. See, those remotes were for the lazy man...there wasn't anything on the remote that wasn't also on the TV. So if the remote was missing, a person technically could get up and use the buttons on the TV. Those days are gone. Now the remote control is a vital part of the TV viewing process. You can't even turn on everything if you don't have that remote! So, yeah, the hunt for the remote was important. But the good news is we did find the hole punch today! That may not sound like a critical component to a household, but when your preschooler is trying to make a book of his letters and numbers and needs to bind it in some way - you better have a hole punch! There really isn't a day that goes by where someone doesn't say, 'Where's the..." and the response is, "In a box somewhere. Maybe storage." Even after all the moves we've done, I'm convinced there really is no completely efficient and foolproof way to pack. Or unpack, apparently.
