I took Rachel & Caleb to the Yavapai County Fair yesterday. We had our fill of cotton candy and corndogs and the kids got to ride a few rides. Seriously, though, was the fair always this expensive?? I felt like I should have applied for a loan before getting in line at the ticket stand. I guess you can't put a price tag on fun and memory-making, though. Rachel was brave enough to get on the ferris wheel with me this year (it was always "way too high" before). She thought it was great - especially looking down at the "people as small as babies" when we were at the top.
Our main reason for the excursion was the Art Exhibits. Rachel's art teacher selected Rachel's dinosaur painting to be displayed in the Del Rio Elementary gallery at the fair. Her art teacher continues to praise Rachel's artistic ability. We're so proud! I will have to post some of her recent artwork on here soon.

You need to be sure to go on as many carnival rides as you can because someday your "old" body will not take it anymore. I can still ride the ferris wheel but some of the other fun rides just do not agree with me anymore--even with the dramamine!
