Got Candy?

It was a good night. People seemed to be generous with the Snickers bars so I consider that a grand success! We did a little bit of trick-or-treating down our street (we have some neighbors that really go all out with Halloween decorations - I'm not sure if I should be impresed or disturbed!) and then we went to our church's Harvest Festival. Completely bizarre start to the evening was that it RAINED! Now it has been dry, dry, dry here. We're talking NO RAIN OF ANY KIND for so long I can't even remember when it rained last - sometime in August maybe?? But guess what - tonight it rained. It was weird. It wasn't a major downpour or anything - just enough to get the bouncy houses wet and make the dunk tank seem pointless. Word has it that they were going to have the pastors sit on the dunk tank. Um, there was no way Paul was going to get dunked in cold water on a cold night and risk getting sick. Since we sing in church on Sunday, he had a good "out." Not sure which brainiac thought a dunk tank at the end of October was a good idea. We may hit 80 degrees during the day but it's only in the 40s at night! So the teenagers took turns getting dunked. They had a blast, but now there will be a pneumonia epidemic in the high schools and we'll know where it originated. Not exactly the kind of "outreach" we were going for with this event...

The kids got loaded up on candy and prizes. In fact, all three of them won cakes in the cake walk. So we should have a good jump on our "holiday weight" this year.

Here we are donning our costumes. We had a Baby, Batman & Robin (although Noah was not tolerating his mask).
Rachel as a Baby

Caleb as Batman

Noah as Robin

See if you can guess what Paul and I are! Look closely...
